“Clean for Mom” a Thai Town Clean Up in Honor of Queen Sirikit

We would like to give our most sincerest thanks and appreciation to the over 100 volunteers who beautified every single block of Hollywood Blvd in Thai Town on Saturday, August 12 for our “Clean for Mom” clean up day event! The occasion was in honor of the Queen of Thailand’s birthday which is Mother’s Day in Thailand. Trash was picked up, bulky items were hauled, and dust and dirt were swept away. Our volunteers worked hard, but also with pride and good spirits — they cleaned with pride in their hearts and smiles on their faces.

Special thanks to Hollywood Beautification Team and the LA City office of Community Beautification for the tools and graffiti removal, Thai Nurses Association for the First Aid station, LAPD Hollywood Division Senior Lead Officer Armen Sevdalian, the Office of Mayor Eric Garcetti – Great Streets Initiative, and the Office of Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell.

Extra special thanks to Consul General Tanee Sangrat and the Royal Thai Consulate staff, Nuch Royal Thai Spa, and of course, our volunteers from Thai Town Rotary Club, Thai Association of Southern California, Chulalongkorn University Alumni Association, Thai Women’s Council of Southern California, Lanna Thai Association of Southern California, Nuad Thai and Spa Association, Paktai Thai Association, Little Armenia CDC, additional Rotary Club members, and students from UCLA. You’ve all made a difference in Thai Town, and Queen Sirikit herself would be just as grateful and proud of your effort as we are!
